A dealer fee is margin the dealership collects after the negotiation is already done — it has nothing to do with the car and isn't a service rendered to the buyer. Our approach has been to price each vehicle at what we believe it's worth, publish that number, and hold to it through closing. When a buyer sees our price, that is the number going on the contract.
What fees am I still responsible for when buying a car in Florida?
Florida state law requires sales tax, a title transfer fee, and vehicle registration fees on every vehicle purchase. These apply to every car sale in the state, regardless of which dealership you buy from — they are government-mandated and go directly to the state, not the dealer. At Orlando Preowned, we charge no dealer-imposed fees beyond those required state costs. The only charges added to the vehicle price are Florida's standard government fees.
