Performance

Extreme Performance

Bronco is ready for adventure with plenty of segment-leading design and capability features.

Segment-First 35-Inch Tires with Beadlock-Capable Wheels

Available on all models, these 35-inch tires provide additional traction and allow Bronco to achieve best-in-class ground clearance with a max 11.6 inches. The Beadlock-Capable Wheels allow you to air-down your tires for extreme off-roading adventure.

Suspension and Available Stabilizer Bar Disconnect

The all-new Bronco has available best-in-class maximum suspension travel. To complement that suspension travel, available Trail Stability Control™, with its Bilstein® position-sensitive-damping (PSD) shocks, utilizes end stop control valve (ESCV) technology to provide control and stability during spirited off-road driving. Also, a stabilizer bar with unique disconnect functionality is standard on Badlands.

Bash Plates

For durability and confidence, these available metal shields offer underbody protection against the toughest off-road terrain.

Best-in-Class Departure and Breakover

Bronco can handle the sharp drops and steep inclines of rugged off-road terrain with an available best-in-class departure angle of 37.2 degree and a 29 degree breakover angle. Bronco has an aggressive available 43.2 approach angle.

Available Best-in-Class Ground Clearance

Stay clear of sharp rocks, fallen branches and other obstacles with a projected best-in-class ground clearance of 11.6 inches.

Available Best-in-Class Water Fording

With a high-mounted air intake and best-in-class ground clearance, Bronco has an available best-in-class water-fording capability of up to 33.5 inches.

Capability

Terrain Management System™ with G.O.A.T. Modes™ Goes Over Any type of Terrain

Adjust your drive mode to match the environment. Bronco features five standard drive modes: Sand, Slippery, Sport, Eco and Normal. The ever-capable Badlands comes with two additional modes: Mud/Ruts and Rock Crawl and substitutes Sport mode for Baja. In total, there are eight available modes that vary by trim.

Trail Control™

Trail Control is a driver-activated cruise control system standard on the automatic transmission that helps you navigate more easily over rough terrain. It manages throttle and braking at individual wheels while maintaining a constant speed so you can focus attention on steering over demanding terrain.

Trail Turn Assist

Available trail turn assist reduces the turning radius in low speed off-roading environments by applying the breaks to the inside rear wheel of the turning vehicle.

Trail 1-Pedal Drive

Trail 1-Pedal Drive enables low-speed crawling which lets you bring the vehicle to a stop without using the brake pedal, rendering two footed driving obsolete by bringing the vehicle to a halt while letting off the accelerator.

FordPass Performance App with Off-Road Navigation

Users can choose from a professionally curated list of class-exclusive electronic trail content from professional trail guide providers such as Trails Off-Road and FunTreks.

Powertrains

Powertrain Choices for Off-Road Thrills and Confidence

Race-proven, turbocharged EcoBoost® engines and segment-first transmission technology help give Bronco the best combination of fuel efficiency, output and gearing to take on the wild.

Available Best-in-Class Six-Cylinder Gasoline Power

Available Best-in-Class Gasoline Four-Cylinder Torque

Segment-First Seven-Speed Manual Transmission

Hit the trails with the class-exclusive 7-speed manual transmission (6+1 Crawler Gear) paired with the available 2.3L engine. The manual transmission features a unique crawl ratio of up to a best-in-class 94.75:1.

Segment-First 10-Speed Transmission

An available segment-first 10-speed automatic gives impressive low gears for impressive and helps keep you in the engines power band.

4x4 - with Part-Time Selectable Engagement

The electronic shift-on-the-fly (ESOF) two-speed transfer case is the base, "part-time" system. This system offers the driver three modes plus Neutral. In 4H and 4L, the system provides mechanically locked 4x4. When 4L is selected, wheel torque increases for conditions like deep sand, steep grades or pulling heavy objects. Flat towing is possible by putting the transfer case into the Neutral position.

Advanced 4x4 - with Automatic On-Demand Engagement

Advanced 4x4 system features a two-speed electromechanical transfer case (EMTC) that adds an auto mode for automatic on-demand engagement to select between 2H and 4H. In 4A, the system continuously varies power to the front wheels for optimum performance for all on-road conditions.
